People who are overweight or obese are more likely to have heart disease, high blood
pressure, diabetes, stroke, liver disease, gallbladder disease and certain cancers.
Because of the increased incidence of these illnesses, a person who is 30 pounds
or more overweight at age 40 can expect to live approximately six years less that
someone the same age at a normal weight. These risks can quickly be reversed with
weight loss. Better health leads to a higher quality of life and lower costs to
you. Through The Healthy Weigh!, we want to provide you with tools and information
to help you with your weight loss efforts.
