Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield offers help to members who lost their medication in Hurricane Ian

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and its family of companies is allowing early or replacement refill of prescriptions for its members whose medications were lost because of Hurricane Ian. The waiver applies to members whose pharmacy benefit plan is managed by Arkansas Blue Cross. The waiver is for a 30-day supply of maintenance medications or a 10-day supply of other medications.

"Our hearts go out to all who have lost so much in the hurricane and the subsequent floods," said Curtis Barnett, president and chief executive officer of Arkansas Blue Cross. "We know there is a lot to go through during and after a natural disaster, and we want our members to stay healthy as they rebuild. We want to help ease their financial burden as they regroup and rebuild by replacing their needed medications."

Members living in areas under a federal disaster declaration are asked to work with their pharmacists or call the pharmacy number on the back of their health plan ID card to have their prescriptions replaced.

Members who have lost their health plan ID cards during the storm or flooding should call 1-800-238-8379. You can also use the Blueprint Portal to access an electronic version of your member ID card.
